& how cute would it be to have these adorable little votives as table numbers!
True vintage mercury glass can be quite pricy (as can some new reproductions - particularly when you need 100+ pieces for a wedding) but luckily there is a DIY to help solve that! There are many how-to's floating around out there on the web, but I'm taking this tutorial from the guru herself, Martha Stewart.
Gather the following: glass candleholders, vases, picture frames with glass, spray bottle with water, mirror paint
Working with clean glass vessels spray interiors or frame glass lightly with water and then with mirror paint (the water will make the paint mottled). Turn vessels upside down and let dry completely, at least overnight. Repeat if too sheer. For flowers, arrange in a glass and place the glass inside the vase. (full details at here)

Such a great money saving idea!!!
