Real Wedding: Melissa & Christian's DIY Rustic Chic Wedding at Brooksby Farm

Oh.My.Goodness.  Do I have a pretty little wedding to share with you today!  All things rustic, girly, and PINK - this gorgeous wedding captured by Henry & Masci Photography is chock-full of DIY projects, tons of amazing details & vibrant colors.  It is the perfect mix of rustic chic fun! And no wonder it is so amazing - the bride & groom are both designers (Melissa has her own invitation company - Patina Press - and did all of their beautiful paper herself!) so their personalities shone right through in every handcrafted accent - looooooooove!

are those lacy envelopes not so lovely?!  and look at the detail in those letterpress invitations; the time on the clock is the actual ceremony time!

& I could never tire of blush & peachy flowers... or mason jars for that matter!

The entire wedding just has such a lovely magical quality -so so gorgeous.  Congratulations Melissa& Christian and all the best for your beautiful future!

It's Christmas Time

It's official.  I'm in the holiday mood - and guess what - you get to celebrate with me!  (I know, some of you might not be ready for this yet - if so, bookmark me here and come back when you are!)  Found myself lost in the digital pages of Country Living last week and simply adore their delightful Christmas tablescapes.  So many great ideas & so much inspiration to decorate a home, AND so many great ideas which could easily be used for holiday parties or even a holiday wedding!  Wouldn't you just love to sit down at a table like one of this??

Or treat your guests with little details such as these...

perhaps an ornament can double as a favor?     vintage glass ornaments accenting classic silver

love this sparkle!                              and these napkin ties are so sweet

a favor and escort card in one - and adorable to boot!

and finally when I saw this idea I squealed with glee - draping white (or any color) linens through your standard dining room chairs; what a pretty & special alternative to chair sashes?

I love it all - don't you?!

Real Wedding in Connecticut: The Harkness Masion Sarah & Zack Get Married! Snap! Photography

I have such a happy, beautiful, kick up your shoes and feel good wedding to share with you all today - with a gorgeous bride & groom to boot!  Captured by the fabulous ladies of Snap! Photography; Sarah & Zack were married this past summer at the beautiful Harkness Mansion, right here in Connecticut.  Their wedding was infused with such great personal details; from Zack's home "Too Tall Ale" beer, to Sarah's beautiful flea market find vintage postcard escort cards, topping it all off with a a great pop of color with bright & cheery greens & oranges, "sunset colors" as Sarah & Yumiko called them, in the details.  Preppy nautical with a vintage flair, this wedding is romantic meets creative meets just plain fun! But I'll let you see for yourself...

(obviously LOVE the Kate Spade accessories!)

The pair were married at the Coast Guard Memorial Chapel... is it me or do those colors match her palette perfectly?!

And Sarah's dad handmade that custom monogram mantle topper!  How great is that?!

And you know any wedding with green striped straws and flip flops is sure to be a good time!

A photobooth guestbook is pure fun!

How gorgeous are those grounds?!  And that mantle filled with treasured family photos... and that moss wreath... you know how I adore that!

Perhaps one of my most favorite details about the wedding is Sarah's description of the toast her three sisters made (Sarah is the youngest of 4 girls)  In her words " The toast my 3 sisters gave...they put together a recipe book of the most treasured family/friend recipes. They had been working on it for over a year and collecting recipes (and the stories behind them) from all of our family and friends. They made the book on snapfish and even included old photos of Zack and I from our childhood!!! The title..."A Recipe for a Happy Marriage" and Page 1 is complete with that recipe- 1 cup of love, 2 cups of honesty, a dash of forgetfulness, a sprinkle of kisses, etc. It is such a keepsake and was a great "gift" at the end of a wonderful toast!"  How sweet is that?!

It's pretty obvious in the images above that Sarah was positively glowing but I just adore these photos - so so romantic...

oooooooooh that smile... Sarah you are so radiant....

& the gorgeousness just does not stop - these "between the two of us" just married portraits are instant classics...

Sarah & Zack - thank you so much for letting me share the details of your beautiful big day.  Your happiness completely filled these images and I am positively thrilled for you both.  No doubt you will live happily ever after! xo

1 Month

Today Dan & I have been married for one whole month... and I am still walking on air!  Looking through our photos last night I relived every moment (and even more when photos uncovered details I was too busy to enjoy the day of).  But beyond the decor (don't get me wrong - I LOVE my decor) I found myself smiling at the photos of just Dan & I... not any particular group photos or portrait style, but of those where we are simply smiling at each other, or glancing at each other in that certain way.  Some of my favorites you can't even see our faces; they are our hands holding one another, or his resting against the small of my back.  I will share them... soon... but in the meantime I thought I'd do a bit of a round up of some really great kisses.  Not any, make you feel uncomfortable, look-away kisses; but kisses that obviously say "wow... I am SO happy that I just married this person"  those are the kind that make my heart go pitter-patter.

p.s. A fun fact... Dan & I were so excited we gave each other a kiss immediately upon my walking down the aisle directly after my parents gave me a away and just before we stepped on to the alter - we just couldn't help it!

Paper Tease... Rustic Chic Wedding Invitations

because I couldn't help it... & because Ms Wesson posted this last week... a quick peak into our invitation suite...

I know, it's such a tease, but I can't wait to unwrap this pretty package & show you what our guests received inviting them to share in our big day!  (& let me tell you this - many of them loved it so much they phoned in responses because they wanted to keep the RSVP card!)  More to come my friends, more to come!
