Girlfriends

I am truly so blessed to have some amazing friends.  Every single one of them is a good, kind, sweet (most of the time) and beautiful person and I am so so lucky to call you all my friends.  I got to see all 10 of my favorite girls (6 DB!!!) from undergrad this past weekend as we celebrated Nicole's bridal shower and bachelorette and it got me thinking about the important part that friendships play in weddings.  (because, really, who else is going to run out to the dance floor with you at your wedding when that Ja Rule song you heard every Thursday night of your college career comes on - your aunts?)
I often times look at real wedding photos and absorb every detail, dissecting the flowers, table linens, lighting, color palette, and when it comes to the people shots, I often focus more on the cut and color of the dresses and what accessories are worn.  (These typically are the shots displayed in wedding features as the purpose is to feature a design or style, not have an online wedding album) However, some images, though the intention may be to show off a dress or fabulous shoes, catch me due to the sheer emotion that radiates from them. Often it is the happiness and love shared between a newly married couple that shines through, but equally as much it is the moments between a bride and her wedding party or her friends.



Friends are such an important part of your big day.  Whether they are in your wedding party or not, it is so wonderful to be surrounded by people who love and support you (and unlike family do so by choice none the less!)

For any of you girls reading this - sorry we're not quite at our finest in this picture (and sadly 3 of you are missing) and yes, I know, if I was on facebook I could've found a better one.  Maybe someday... maybe.
